The Kyphi project born during the CBI-ER – Challenge Based Innovation Emilia-Romagna program, was selected with 15 others to participate in the international competition between startups.
Innovation World Cup Series, in the healthcare devices sector, takes place as part of the sixth edition of the Medical Connected Healthcare Forum, in Dusseldorf, on November 18.
Daniel Alberto Sebastia, a student of the master’s degree in International Management, will fly to Germany to present Kyphi, a system composed of a wearable device, a smartphone app, and artificial intelligence that work together to monitor patients with severe asthma and prevent crises asthma.
The Kyphi project saw the support of Sanofi-Genzyme, the specialty care division of the pharmaceutical company Sanofi, which renewed its commitment to open innovation projects, after participating in the first edition of ICARO Unimore.
For Bernardo Balboni, scientific director of the Contamination Lab “Thanks to CBI-ER, Unimore students were able to have direct contact with researchers from CERN in Geneva and from the universities of Emilia Romagna involved in the project (Unimore-Unibo-Unife). in this way they were able to respond to a real need, capitalizing on the knowledge that derives from scientific research and incorporating it into their system. ”
